　　What is honesty? Honesty means speaking the truth and being fair and upright in act.Considered a virtue,it is admired in every country and every culture.So,Is it necessary to be honest all the time .

　　However,there are people who try to get benefits by dishonest means.

　　For example,some students copy the exercises done by others or cheat in examinations in order to get good marks. The same thing may be said of a merchant who tries to get rich by deceving customers. Those people may succeed for a time,but sooner or later,they will be caught.

　　How can cheating on exams be prevented? The measures may vary from case to case.But I think,the students must first be well informes of the negative effect on the learning atmosphere of the university and the students'character. Then the students who were caught in the act of cheating can be criticizedpublicly, punished or even expelled from the university.

I think that we should be honest because being honest is not only beneficial to ourselves but also to others and the whole society. The reasons can be listed as follows.Firstly, only honest people can be truly respected by the others and can make more friends over a long period of time.

　　Secondly, honesty, which is the traditional virtue of the Chinese people, can make our life easier and more harmonious. Thirdly, honesty can make our society more stable. A case in point is that Singapore, a society featuring trustworthiness and integrity, has a comparatively low criminal rate.

　　Responsbility can be understood in many ways. for the parents , they have had the responsibility for caring for and fostering their children since the birth of their baby.for teachers,both in kindergartens and colleges,they also should be responsible for the study and life of their students,that is to say,teahers are the second parents of children somewhile.

　　for us,as a friend of others,it is our responsibility to help our friends when they are in trouble or faced with difficulties. each one has the different responsibily based on their roles but we must take it for granted that we are responsible for the society.

People everywhere would regarded honesty as a virtue and hate a dishonesty person. Secondly, honesty is the basis of interactions among people. People should treat each other sincerely and open their hearts to each other. Only in this way can the relationship among the people be natural. Thirdly, in the market economy, some people try to get more money at the cost of honesty. To them, a best businessman is one who can cheat most tactfully. Even in this kind of society, honesty is deeply valued by most people.

　　We can see that not only in history, but also at the present day, honesty was and is valued by the majority of the people and the virtue will not perish so easily.
