It's a Resume, No It's A Letter, No -- It's a Resume Letter
For those who aren't quite comfortable with the limitations of a traditional cover letter or who want a visually stunning way to communicate certain outstanding qualifications, consider a “resume letter.”
Use a resume letter when you want to a non-traditional way to give the reader a quick glance of who you are and what you've accomplished. While this format can be an eye catcher, it should only be used when the company did not ask specifically for a resume and cover letter (you always want to give the employer what they want). In cold mailings, of course, the resume letter option is yours.
In essence, the resume letter replaces the middle paragraph of the cover letter, where you list your qualifications and experience, with a detailed list of specific information more common to a resume. While this information can be delivered in regular paragraph form, resume letters replace the traditional paragraph with bulleted statements similar to a summary of qualifications section in a resume.
Since the resume letter is sent without the assistance of a resume to provide a factual record, you must use even more specifics when describing your work history and skills: mention companies you?ve been associated with, projects you?ve accomplished and specific skills or programs with which you've become fluent.
The paragraph or two immediately following your bulleted statements offer a summation of your qualifications or attributes. End with a normal conclusion paragraph.
While the resume letter does offer some advantages in communicating your information, it does, however, have some important disadvantages as well. Since it replaces the resume with only a minimal amount of information, it is very difficult to know what facts might be most vital for the reader.
At their best, resume letters can inspire employers to contact you for interviews. At their worst, the limited data of your resume letter could lack the information employers need. Resume letters are chancy, but when you have little to lose, such as with cold mailings, the risk can be worth the reward.

(2)商务公函的结构及写作方法
公函是平行文。在写作时,一般包括四大部分:标题、行文对象、正文、落款。
①标题一般采用公文规范标题法,即标题由发函机关、事由、受函机关和文种组成。也有的只有事由和文种。
②行文对象是指公函受文者,写在事由之下的第一行左边,顶格,后面加冒号。
③正文是公函的内容即事项,是发函者要告诉对方的具体事情,由三部分组成,即发函因由,发函事项以及结语等,事项部分基本上是叙述和说明的方法,如有要求部分则要根据行文内容来安排,不可过多。结语多使用特此复函。
④落款。包括发函单位的名称和主要负责人的签名以及日期。

Make the Most of “Snail Mail”
Nowadays, most resumes and cover letters are sent as attachments via e-mail. However, if you have reason to send your cover letter and resume by _snail mail,” the documents should be printed on good bond paper (20 lbs.) with a watermark. Choose a color that evokes professionalism; the best choices are white or cream, though a light gray can also be considered.

1、信头 The heading
信头就是指书信中发信人的地址和发信的日期等。
通常情况下,公司都会专门印制带有信头的信笺纸,包括发信人的姓名,地址,电话,传真等。当我们撰写传统信件时,直接使用这种信笺纸就可以。
2、编号(写信人的名字缩写)和日期 The sender name and the date
这部分内容是为了方便今后查询信件用的。
3、封内地址 The inside address
这里就是指收信人的姓名和地址,一般写在信笺的左上方。收信人名称地址的格式和信头的格式相同,但必须把收信人的姓名一并写出。另外,如果不是完全公事化的书信往来,或者
已经从公事的关系渐渐发展成为带有私人性质的友好信件往来,由于称呼这一栏的内容已经说明了收信人的身份,所以可以不必填写封内地址。
4、事由 The subject heading
事由也就是我们通常说的主题,可以直接写明信件的重点,让人不必读完全信才了解到信的内容。所以事由要写得简明扼要。
5、称呼 The salutation
指对收信人的一种称呼。
较常使用的有Dear Sirs, Dear Madam, Dear Mr. XX,。称呼后面的标点,一般使用逗号。称呼里的第一个字母要大写。
6、开头语 The open sentences
开头语没有统一的格式,但习惯上先用客套的语句把收到对方来信的日期,主题及简单内容加以综合叙述,使对方一目了然这是答复哪一封去信的。如果是第一次通信,也可以利用开头语作必要的自我介绍,并表明目的要求。开头语一般与正文分开,自成一节,要求简单明了。
7、正文 The body of the letter
信的主体。一封信件的优劣,完全要看正文写的好或坏。我们会在后面继续讨论写作商务信函的一些技巧、规则。
8、结尾语 The complimentary close
结尾语一般用来总结文本所谈的事项,提示对收信人的要求,如“希望来信来函定货”,“答复询问”等,另外也附加一些略带客套的语气。正文结束后,另起一段写结尾语。
9、结束语 The complimentary close
结束语是结束信函时的一种客套,应该与前面的称呼相呼应。例如:“Sincerely,” “Best Regards, ”or “Yours Truly,”. 结束语写在结尾语下隔一行,只有第一个字母大写,后面加逗号。
10、签名 The signatrue
写在结束语的下面,签上写信人的名字。如果是传统的信件,写信人最好亲笔签上您的名字,因为用印章的话,说明该信件并非本人亲自过目,只是通函而已,不为人重视。签名的下面,最好写上发信人的职位。
11、附件 Enclosure
如果信中有附件,应在左下角注明Encl. 或Enc.。

在国际商务买卖的过程主要分为询盘、发盘、还盘、接受四个环节,其过程中最重要的便是商务信函的书写,我们这次实习中主要对发盘的过程进行了练习。在老师的帮助下对发盘的发虚盘、发实盘的信函实例进行分析与解读和翻译,并对一些内容进行书写练习,使我们掌握了英文信函的书写方式、提升了书写技巧。
(三)商务谈判
在看完有关商务谈判的视频后,在老师的指导下,我们根据视频中的谈判,对其谈判的案例进行分析。全面了解了谈判的类型、谈判时的重要因素、谈判时注意的问题及谈判时的信息搜索。谈判对于商务进行是不可缺少的部分,充分了解谈判的过程和技巧便更一步的促进了合作关系的达成。
(四)进出口贸易信函的分析和书写
根据多篇的进出口贸易信函的阅读及分析。对信函的英汉互译,这不仅对我们英语知识的提高,而且认识了进出口贸易信函书写的方式,在我们多次的练习中提升了写作技巧,更为以后的工作节约了时间。
(五)商务报告
