From this cartoon, we clearly see that the student is asking his teacher about whether or not he can use some tech support to figure out the problem in his math class. What’s behind the cartoon is the fact that nowadays students become increasingly dependent on technological devices to help them with their school work.
In my opinion, with the advances in technology, students can learn more efficiently. First of all, technology provides infinite resources for learning. When our parents were students, they could only learn from their teachers, while nowadays, we can learn much more from the Internet. Second, it’s more convenient to learn with tech support. For example, I got enrolled in a Spanish class in an online school called Hu jiang Online Class. All it requires is a PC or a smart phone, and I can learn the lectures anytime and anywhere. Lastly, it’s more economical to learn online. Besides the courses, free Apps are also easily accessible.
As for me, tech support has become an important part in my daily study. I will continue to learn in this way, and I believe that we can learn more efficiently if we are able to utilize the technologies around us.
It is widely accept that the digital age has already arrived, such as mobile phone, Mp3, Mp4, digital camera, digital computer and so on. They make our life convenient and colourful.
But at the same time many people maintain that just for these stuffs our life become more and more monotonous, and people lack face to face communication. Everything has two sides.
The advantages of the digital products are obvious to some people. For one thing, in terms of convenient, the increasing popularity of using these has helped us save a lot of time. For another, due to the rising of digital age, it makes our life colourful. We often see all sorts of people bring different kinds of products of digital age to go sightseeing and travelling.
However, there are still quite a few people who strongly oppose these fashionable digital things. Reality mobile phones, in some extent, make friends lack face to face communication, and the famlies spend less and less time together, which cause generation gap and indifference to the person around us. Personally, I side with the former opinion. It is a wonderful feeling and a great way to make our life much more colour and conveiment. As long as the society is developed, there follows a great nummber of digital products.
中国城市化:Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 mimites to write an essay based on the graph below. You should start your essay with a brief description of the graph and comment on China 's achievements in urbanization. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
范文:
The chart above displays the progress of urbanization in China over the last four decades. We can see that, in less than 40 years, the number of people in China who lived in cities had more than tripled. From 1980 to 20_, the share of urban population had grown from to , which was a record high worldwide.
As far as I am concerned, China’s extraordinary urbanization has gone hand-in-hand with its economic boom. Since its reform and opening-up in 1978, China’s economy has taken off. During the past four decades, China underwent vast changes to its economic system and abundant opportunities emerged in the coastal area. As a result, people living in the rural areas came to big cities in the costal area to pursuit a better life, which speeded up the progress of urbanization.
Urbanization, in return, contributes to the development of China’s fast-growing economy. Take, for example, the basic infrastructures in big cities. The government has invested a lot of money in buildings and facilities, which enables people to live and work in high-density in tall buildings, which greatly improvs efficiency and productivity.
In conclusion, the urbanization in China not only enables people to enjoy a better living condition, but also lays foundations for sustainable economic growth. It is a great achievement and has far-reaching benefits.
For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay based on the picture below. You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then discuss whether technology is indispensable in education. You should give sound arguments to support your views and write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
The Importance of Name Recently, it is universally acknowledged that due attention has to be paid to the importance of name. To begin with, a large number of people assert that one’s name can exert profound influence on the success of a person or institution. In addition, some even maintain that the mental health and physical fitness of a person will be influenced or even determined by his or her name. On the contrary, it is the view of a great many people that one’s name is of little significance. I can think of no better illustration than the following ones. “Qiu”, which means “hill”, is the name of Confucius, the greatest thinker, philosopher and educator throughtout history. Likewise, another case in point is Lao Zi, the founder of philosophical and religious Taoism, whose name is “er”, which means “the ear”. These examples effectively clarify that one’s future is only determined by his striving spirit, talent or intelligence rather than some mysterious and superstitious factors such as certain names or lucky numbers. As for me, significance should be attached to intelligence, persistence and diligence instead of one’s name. Given all the above arguments, it is high time that we put an end to this undesirable phenomenon.
On the Importance of a Name There is no denying the fact that it is a controversial topic whether names are important or not. Some hold the positive view. They claim that a good name, or a name that can be easily remembered, can bring one a lot more opportunities than others. Some Chinese may also believe that a name designed according to the traditional theory of five elements can bring good luck. Others, however, hold the opposite view. They argue that a name is nothing but a code to distinguish one from another. A person “good” name may not be as successful as the name indicates. In the same way, a person who has a common or casually given name can also achieve tremendous success. Personally, I believe that both sides have something right, so we should not go to extremes. On the one hand, we have to admit that a well designed name can help a person to some extent. On the other hand, we should not exaggerate the effect of a name on a person's fate. Anyway, a person's success mainly depends on his hard work and desirable personalities.

The Importance of Building Trust BetweenTeachers and Students.
A good relationship between a teacher and a studentcan have a major influence on a kid's development, and trust is crucial and indispensable inmaintaining the relationship.
To begin with, only when a student believes in his orher teacher is he or she willing to learn from theteacher or look to the teacher for guidance and support. In reality, too many students areweary of study and even drop out of school only because they dislike their teachers, whichmay transform their whole life. Besides, a teacher who has the full trust of his or her studentsis more motivated to help them improve the consciousness and initiative of learning, whichin turn benefits the students most. However, the credibility between teachers and students isnot something that can be built in a day. On the one hand, teachers should comprehend thestudents' actual demands and offer timely help. On the other hand, students should always berespectful to their teachers.
All in all, trust in a teacher-student relationship is a must to achieve effective teaching anlearning.
The comic is an ironical illustration that it is unadvisable to search for a shortcut to learning. The student tries to find a book about how to do well in school without studying in the library, only to be told that it is unrealistic and impractical.
The discussion of whether there is a shortcut to learning is essentially the requesting for a supreme learning method – a panacea every learner wishes for. In my opinion, the shortcut to learning does exist. It is the combination of diligence and intelligence. As Thomas Edison says, “Genius is one per cent inspiration, ninety-nine per cent perspiration.”
On one hand, hard work is the premise and prerequisite for achieving academic success. Even the most resourceful ones have to devote their time studying and reading, because knowledge does not go automatically into the brain. All efforts will be futile if we idle away our time.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that there are ways to improve learning efficiency, especially with the support of technology like the Internet. Better learners are always the ones with cleverer learning skills.
To sum up, only when we diligently and skillfully can we achieve academic success.
Wherever one lives-in the city or in the country, there are some good reasons for owning a car. First, cars have become an important part of life in many countries. The car provides the most convenient form of transportation. With a car, a person can get around freely, without spending a lot of time. Second, a car is a comfortable way to travel, especially in the winter time. A driver stays warm and dry even in the cold, rainy weather. Finally, a driver is usually safe in his car when he is out at night.
There are, on the other hand, many good reasons against owning a car. For one thing, it can be very expensive to purchase and run a car. The gas shortage has caused a big problem for drivers, and the price of fuel continues to go up each year. In addition, it costs a great deal to maintain, repair and insure a car. For another, owning a car can aim cause worry and stress. It is exhausting to drive a car in heavy traffic. It often happens that a driver can be held up on his way because of a traffic jam. What is worse, cars are responsible for most of the smog in cities, which pollutes the environment seriously.
In spite of all the above-mentioned, I still favor owning a car. The reason is that the car gives a person the freedom to schedule his own time. Though we are confronted with a problem of energy crisis, I am sure that the real solution will have to be a new kind of car, one that uses cheap, efficient fuel and does not contaminate the air.
As is graphically revealed in the cartoon,a few employees are holding a conference in the meeting room equipped with advanced devices.
However, the most striking feature of the drawing is that the man in the center, who seems like a manager, says that they have lots of information technology, while useful information is badly needed.
Simple as the illustration seems,it discloses a serious problem that it is rather hard to obtain helpful information in the highly modernized society.
A multitude of reasons can account for the phenomenon.
On the one hand,it can be partially due to the fact that the modern technology has been developing at an incredible speed, which provides a booming amount of information and it is difficult to tell the rightfromthe wrong.
On the other hand,it is also because the restriction about spreading information on the Internet is farfromperfect, making it difficult to get rid of the problem effectively and fundamentally.
From my perspective,it is high time that we transferred our focusfromdeveloping technology to searching for something helpful.
Only in this way can we acquire what we literally need.

Reduce Waste on Campus
In recent years, the problem of waste has become increasingly serious on university campuses. According to a recent survey conducted by CCTV, the year of 20_ has viitmssed an astonished waste that amounts to a total value of RMB 52,860,000 in Chinese university canq)uses.
Such a phenomenon may bring about many unfavorable consequences To begin with, parents will have to suffer heavier financial burden for most students still count on their parents to finish their university education. In addition, waste will surely make students form bad habits, some even losing their independence and social responsibility. Last but not least, the extravagant atmosphere may come into being in universities, which obviously goes against the aim of university education.
As far as I am concerned,I am determined to save on various resources such as food, water and electricity. Only when every one of us realizes that thrift is an indispensable virtue can we put an end to the waste phenomenon. ( 159 词)

范文:
We can see clearly from this chart that the rural population in poverty in China has decreased sharply from the year of 20_ to 20_, from around 95 million, consisting of 12 percent population of the whole country in 20_, to almost none. Such achievements in poverty alleviation are marvelous and must have gone beyond the imagination of many.
The cold hard data depicted on the graph might be a little abstract, but the real changes happening in the life of the Chinese people over the past decade are much more eloquent. For example, in the past, people were very much concerned about whether they have enough food to eat most of the time, but now they are more interested in whether the food they eat is healthy enough. What's more, in the last decade, an increasing number of students have had the chance to go to college, which was impossible for them to do in the past.
I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks to the central government of China and the whole people of the nation. Had it not been their joint efforts in the past decade, China could never have achieved such a success in poverty elimination.

Water problems in the future will become more intense and more complex. Our increasing population will tremendously increase urban wastes, primarily sewage. On the other hand, increasing demands for water will decrease substantially the amount of water available for diluting wastes. Rapidly expanding industries which involve more and more complex chemical processes will produce large volumes of liquid wastes, and many of these will contain chemicals which are poisonous. To feed our rapidly expanding population, agriculture will have to be intensified. This will involve ever-increasing quantities of agriculture chemicals. From this, it is apparent that drastic steps must be taken immediately to develop corrective measures for the pollution problem.
There are two ways by which this pollution problem can be lessened. The first relates to the treatment of wastes to decrease their pollution hazard. This involves the processing of solid wastes prior to disposal and the treatment of liquid wastes, or effluents , to permit the reuse of the water or best reduce pollution upon final disposal.
A second approach is to develop an economic use for all or a part of the wastes. Farm manure is spread in fields as a nutrient or organic supplement. Effluents from sewage disposal plants are used in some areas both for irrigation and for the nutrients contained. Effluents from other processing plants may also be used as a supplemental source of water. Many industries, such as meat and poultry processing plants, are currently converting former waste production into marketable byproducts. Other industries have potential economic uses for their waste products.
According to the picture, an employer turns down a job applicant, for his degree is less advanced than the other applicants, even though he has a good resume. Actually, what’s behind the cartoon is the tendency that employers focus on academic performance when hiring.
No one disputes that a college or higher degree opens doors. Despite that, as far as I’m concerned, academic degree should not be the primary criteria in selecting talents. First of all, academic degrees only represent the applicants’ proficiency in their school work, and cannot demonstrate their personality or other abilities. For instance, the responsibility of a human resources manager is to deal with people, and thus it requires advanced people skill which is by no means shown in the diploma. Second, emphasis on degrees may stall the development of the company. They will lose real talents if they judge people only by their educational background, while it is often the case that college drop-outs like Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, etc., run wildly successful enterprises.
Therefore, instead of running after applicants with higher degrees, companies should become more concerned about what it takes to do the job and what a college education actually provides.

It is common knowledge that if you want to gain esteem from others, you must do the same thing before. Obviously, we have to acknowledge that showing the respect to others has the potential to change an individual’s surrounding atmosphere and thus change his whole life.
There are numerous details related to the significance of respecting others, with the following three being the most remarkable. Firstly, respecting people around you is one of our traditional brilliant cultures that ought to be inherited and maintained forever. Actually, it is a good way for us to spread our custom to the world through our daily behavior, for example, respecting the foreign students when we study together. Secondly, this valuable quality is not only a symbol of your politeness but also a useful way to build relationships. To be honest, no one wants to make friends with those who are contemptuous. Thirdly, as long as you respect others, they would in return take the same attitude to you and even appreciate you, which has the ability to place you in a beneficial position in the future.
To sum up, the spirit of esteeming others is playing an increasingly important role in our life. Thus, we are supposed to respect people whenever and wherever.

中国高等教育:Directions:For this part, you are allowed 30 mimites to write an essay based on the chart below. You should start your essay with a brief description of the chart and comment on China ' s achievements in higher education. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
范文:
The bar chart above explicitly demonstrates that the gross en rollment ratio in universities in China, according to the data from Ministry of Education, has increased dramatically from in 1990 to 51. 6% in 20_. Obviously, the past thirty years have witnessed China 's great achievements in higher educa- tion.
Firstly, higher education in China has become approachable to most Chinese citizens. This is partly due to the fact that Chi na 's economy has been developing at a marvelous speed, but also because Chinese government has launched a wide range of favorable policies to support rural students to get admitted to colleges. Moreover, the quality of China s universities has showed a marked improvement. Now, several seats of learning in China are among the top universities world-wide, and every year they draw numerous foreign students to come to China for higher education. Besides, Chinese government and a mass of big enterprises have been investing heavily into upgrading the campus sites, introducing the most advanced equipments, and increasing the faculty s salaries.
In all, the China s achievements in higher education are re markable. I believe that this trend will surely continue, and will in turn benefit our great country.
As a general rule, people like to help others, but there are occasions when you should say no to requests for favors. For instance, it is better to refuse when a child pesters you for sweet food and drinks or for too many toys. Another example is when a relative asks you to use yours influence to get him or her a bank loan or work promotion.
However, we cannot ignore the fact that many people are reluctant to say no. They feel that if they turn down a request from a relative or friend, they will cause ill-feeling within the family or become unpopular with their acquaintances. A notable case in point is when the boss asks them to do something which they feel is unreasonable.
It is important to keep in mind that not saying no when you should say no can sometimes have harmful consequences. If children are giver everything they ask for, not only may their health be damaged, but they may grow up selfish and spoilt. Again, in the long run it is kinder to re fuse to lend money to a person who has a gambling or alcoholism problem.

From the day the first digital product was given birth, unbelievable changes have happened in our life.
A few years ago, when we read, prints on the paper are the only media which carries meaning. When we listen to music, we have to buy magnetic tapes or CDs which record the sound.
However, nowadys, our life is a totally different picture. We read books all the same, but many of them are e-books which is more convenient and more cheap. As to music, with a matchbox-sized mp3 player, we can download whatever we like from the boundless music files on the internet. These are only the most insignificant examples how digital products have benefit us. Thanks to indigital products, the variety and quantity of information we can obtain is unprecedented. In everyday work, study and many other aspects, digital products have played a more and more important life in our life.
However, on the other hand, digital products also cause many negative effects to our lives. As life become more and more convenient, most people become more and more indifferent.
They close their doors and never go out as soon as they get home from work. If they live alone, they will kill their time by surfing online. They dont have any connections even with their closest neighbors, who seem no different from people they meet everyday in the street.
For students, they spend much more time than before on listening to the music or playing computer games. These phenomena are no good to our universities, nor to our society. On the whole, it is high time that we recognized the positive effects and also the negative ones of digital products, and used them in the right way.
The past years have seen the huge development of higher education in China and in contemporary society, it bees a trend for universities to be ranked according to certain standards each , an increasing number of people deem it rather convenient to acquire information about quality of some the Internet, people can notice several editions of ranks very year.
A number of individuals favor this ranking because of its begin with, without these ranks, it is impossible for people to make a direct parison between different addition, it is this ranking that enables China to build up a system of assessing higher education and to enhance its overall so, others hold the opposite view that university ranking carries some , ranking all universities means a great amount of time and human resources; however, the quality and authority is not as satisfactory as , what worries many experts is that some colleges may focus too much eyesight on ranking itself, ignoring the needs of and large, the advantage derived the annual university ranking far outweigh the disadvantages.
An effective ranking will bring colleges motivation, arouses their enthusiasm to strive, and helps China to enhance higher , it is advisable for this ranking to be scientific, practical and impartial.
As can be seen clearly from the graph, the difference in the numbers of people working in thethree major employment sectors in the . economy in the early 1980s was relatively small, with about 4 million workers in engineering, 5 million in agriculture and million in theservice industries.
However, the period 1980-1990 saw significant changes in the relative sizes of these threeemployment sectors. there was a rapid decline in employment in agriculture, with the numberof workers dropping by more than 80%. On the other, employment oppor tunities in the serviceindustries increased sharply, especially after 1986, whereas the engineering sectorexperienced a gradual but constant decline.
Trends in the above graph clearly indicate that the service industries will continue to employthe largest number of people at least for the next few years, while the engineering sector willneed somewhat fewer workers in the next decade. On the whole, the total number ofemployment offered in these three sectors was much smaller than ten years before and theredoesn't seem to be any likelihood for improvement in the near future. So, students who aregoing to graduate soon may need to prepare to seek employment elsewhere.
