书信的格式一般由五部分组成。
第一部分,称谓。写在信笺的第一行,顶格写,是写信人和收信人之间的关系,决定称呼,称呼后加冒号,表示后边有话要说。如尊敬的刘老师:、亲爱的爸爸:、王老师:等。
第二部分,正文。这是书信的主要部分,需要询问、回答或告诉对方的事情都写在这一部分。正文从第二行开始,一般空两格书写。正文部分可分段,常常是一层意思写一段。书信内容可短可长。
第三部分,结尾。正文写完后,根据对方情况和双方的关系,写一句表示祝愿或勉励的话语作为结尾。如祝您健康!、此致、敬礼!等。祝你、此致等词语,可紧接正文写,也可另起行空两格写。健康、敬礼则另起行顶格写。
第四部分,署名。在书信末尾,署上写信人的名字或单位名称。
第五部分,日期。写信时的年月日,写在名字和单位的`右下角。一般私下通信,只写月日,不写年号。
一、信封
左上方填写邮编及收信人地址;
信封中间居中写收信人姓名,加上称呼。它可以是写信人对收信人的称呼,也可以是邮递员对收信人的称呼。后者为王力先生的观点,实际上邮递员只认为是写信人对收信人的称呼。收信人后面没有称呼是不礼貌的,属于格式上的错误。
信封右下方为寄信人地址及邮编。
二、正文

书信是日常生活中广泛应用的一种文体。它是一种特殊的实用文体。长期以来,它形成了自己有的固定的书写格式:一般包括称呼、正文、结尾、署名、日期五部分。
称呼:第一行顶格写收信人的名字和称呼(或只写称呼),有时还要加上“敬爱的、亲爱的”等词,表示对收信人的亲热和尊敬;接着加个冒号,表示下面的话是对他说的。
正文:另起一行空两格开始写正文,也就是书信的内容。正文部分通常先写问候的话。问候是一种礼节,问候语很多,有节日的问候,如“新年好”“春节快乐”等;有季节性的问候,如“夏安”“冬安”等。也有开头问候身体健康,工作和学习情况的,如“近来身体可好”“近来的学习好吗?”等等。问候语可以立成为一个段落。
正文是书信的主体部分,是写信的目的之所在,写信人要说的话,要办的事都写在这里。正文的`内容在问候语下一行空两格写起,转行时要顶格写起。如果要说的话,要办的事多,应该分段写,每段写一件事,写完一件事,再写另外一件事。每段开头都要空两格写起。
结尾:正文写完后,要写上表示祝愿、尊敬或勉励的话,也叫致敬语。致敬语要根据对象不同而不同。如果写给长辈,可以写“敬祝健康”等;如果写给平辈,可以写“祝学习进步!”等。而“此致敬礼”是比较通用的,适合一般人的结束语。结尾的“此致”“祝”等可以紧接正文写,也可以占一行,空两格写。“敬礼”“健康”等祝愿之情,要另起一行顶格写。
署名:写在正文结尾后的右下方。可以根据信纸剩下的多少,决定署名与致敬语的距离。署名时根据与收信人关系的亲疏,可带姓,可不带姓。习惯上,还按与收信人的关系,在名字前面加上“孙”、“弟”“老朋友”等称谓写在名字的左上角,字体小一点。
日期:一般写在署名的下边。日期最好是把年月日都写出来,便于收信人了解写信时间。
