1.替换词汇模仿造句，培养造句能力。词汇匮乏是英语写作的最大障碍之一。有话想说却无词可写是大部分学生的苦恼。替换词汇这种方法，是解决无词可用问题的最好方法，即围绕一个句型调换句子的个别成分，写出新的句子。通过大量的练习，学生不仅能有效地积累词汇，而且能为造句打下基础，同时还能训练学生的发散性思维能力和总结、归纳、比较的能力，为学生学会写作奠定良好的基础。
2.由单词引出简单的句子，连句成篇。由词套用句型。如，在进行国家名词的学习和句型“Where is your pen pal from？ He is from Australia.”的学习之后，笔者进一步扩展，指着学生王平说：“你叫王平，假设你来自法国，当你的同学问你时，你应回答：I’m from France.采访的同学把你的信息记下来：Wang Ping is from France. 全班学生依次进行采访并做好记录，再连句成篇。最后，写出一篇介绍全班同学原籍的文章。”句子结构简单，不容易出错，学生容易掌握，降低了写作难度，提高了学生学习英语的兴趣。
3.循序渐进扩展句子。利用教材中表格提供的信息，进行问答练习，答语一般为简单句，再将答语连句成篇。如，学生根据表格里提供的信息互相提问：What’s your name？ Where are you from？ What do you like？ What language do you speak？ 这样每人问4个问题，每人就有4句答语。如答语为：My name is Wang Fang. I am from Xinjiang. I like flowers. I speak Chinese.将答语连接，则成为一篇短文。若3个学生问，就有12句答语，再把这12句答语记录下来便成为一篇作文。虽然这样做非常机械，但对于初学者来说非常有必要。
4.根据教材所提供的信息，开展写作训练。新目标七年级下册Unit 1 “Where is your pen pal from？” Section B 3b的教材处理方法：根据教材内容让学生写一篇 Pen Pal Wanted广告并填写一个Information Card表格。笔者在安排此环节时，首先处理学生不懂的部分黑体字内容。然后，把Information Card 的内容用句子联系起来，完成某人的一篇自我介绍，最后再对照广告来检查和比较看谁写得好。这样，学生基本上不出现错误句型和错误句子，在写的过程中感觉比较简单和顺利，学习积极性较高。
二、 转变课文形式，培养学生英语写作能力和用英语思维的习惯
1.听力材料改写成文章。如新目标七年级下册Unit 12 “What did you do last weekend？” Section A 1b为听力训练，可让学生根据图表，分别对Lucy星期六、日的早上、下午、晚上的活动进行描写并填写表格记录下来，完成对Lucy 的周末活动的归纳写作。又如，新目标七年级下册Unit 1 “What time do you get up？” Section A 2b，学生根据听力材料完成Bob， Mary， Jack， Jim， Anna 的shower schedule时，很容易根据填表内容完成介绍他们生活规律的作文。
2.利用听力对话中所介绍的人物的活动，叙述事件的发生、发展。如新目标七年级下册Unit 11 “How was your school trip？” Section B 1c的教学中，让学生首先听听力材料，填表格，再认真阅读理解听力材料，然后进行自由对话，最后将情景对话改写成一篇旅行游记，要求说明去什么地方，做了什么有趣的事，感受如何。学生依据听力材料完成答语记录的同时，还能根据相关情景画面加深对课文的理解和记忆。
3.将对话改编成句子，再连句成篇。如新目标七年级下册Unit 11 “How was your school trip？”Section A 2d是一篇对话练习，学生在熟练完成对话和模仿对话之后，把对话转换成：Eric’s trip was excellent. Because he visited his grandparents in the country. He went fishing and fed the chickens there. The air there was so clean that he was able to watch stars at night.
4.把短文改写成对话。如新目标七年级下册Unit 7 “It’s raining.” Section B 3a的教学中，可让学生首先根据要求进行填空训练，然后根据短文中的天气、穿戴、活动和感受等内容进行问答训练，编成一段对话，以便进一步帮助学生理顺文中各种关系，迅速掌握知识。
教材是英语课程实施的基础，笔者在培养学生的书面表达能力时尝试对现有的教材进行活用以符合学生的认知水平，效果非常明显。
Once people were asked if they felt happy, most people did not know how to answer, to their hesitation, they were not satisfied with their situation. Today, people are under great pressure, they live in a fast-paced way. They have worked so hard to satisfy their meets, but what they want is far out of their reach, so they feel tired and not happy. Happiness could be an easy thing, only if people are easy to be satisfied, they can be happy for having a vacation and having dinner with their parents, these things are easy to be ignored.
When people are ambitious, they want more, they don’t realize what they have is more than other people, other people want to be one of them. So when you feel unhappy, why don’t you look at the things you have, you will realize you are a happy man.
On a sunny day, down by the river, a fishermen -who does not know how to swim- is in a world of his own, waiting for the fish to surrender and be the mans catch of the day, but in a slight error, the man slipped and fell into the river, all was seen by a young man who just happened to pass by, saw the whole scenario and saved the fishermen, the fishermen was quite ashame of himself for he a fishermen who can not swim, after the accident, the fishermen gave enough thought into wanting to learn to swim and thus beginning lessons for amatures whom do not know how to swim.
I like autumn. I love the falling leaves in autumn. They cover the ground with golden yellow. When you walk on them, they rustle beneath your feet, just as if they are singing to you. I know trees get ready for their next year s rebirth by doing this, so I enjoy them without any sad feelings. The fields in autumn are fruity. People are easy to have good mood in a harvest season. So can t autumn sights bring happiness to us as well?
In the coming summer holiday, I am going to do a lot of interesting things.
First, I will finish my holiday homework. Second, I am going to have a good rest. I am going to play computer games or listen to music when I am free, because I like them very much. But I am not good at them now. Then, I will join a basketball club to play basketball. Even if I was a girl, I like basketball very much. It can not only make me become sunny, cheerful, but also can make me healthy. Finally, I am going to visit some of my friends. We are going to play together. Maybe we will go sightseeing.
