　　对于我们这些小孩子来说，在圣诞节这天，最受欢迎的人物自然是红衣白发的老人。在西方，孩子们在圣诞节的前一天晚上睡觉时，会把一只大红袜子放在床前或者壁炉前，等着圣诞老人在夜晚把送给他们的礼物放在袜子里，而大人们，总是会扮成圣诞老人把礼物放在孩子们的袜子里。

　　在不同的地方，过圣诞节的习俗也不同。比如说在瑞典，一些大公司的老板就会在圣诞节前一星期邀请员工参加一个圣诞午餐。而在瑞典还有一个惯例，那就是在圣诞节前一天的下午3时准时收看迪士尼的特别节目。

　　在捷克，人们时常会在圣诞节这一天预测来年有没有好运气。预测方法就是将一个苹果切开，如果切第一下的时候就能看见苹果核，那就代表来年会有好运气，如果没有看见，那就预示着第二年做事情都不会顺利。女孩们会将自己的鞋子抛过头顶，当鞋子落地时，如果鞋尖指向门，那么就预示着这个女孩子来年会出嫁。
