I had a streak of tough luck yesterday. Everything, it seemed to me, went wrong. And I simply couldn’t understand why all the bad things happened to me in one single day.
In the morning, as luck would have it, my alarm clock didn’t ring, and with an aching head I woke up half an hour later than usual. I was in such a hurry that, when making an omelet, I got my fingers burnt and splashed the omelet all over the floor of the kitchen.

I will bee a high school student this September。 I am a little bit nervous about it。 I have to do well in the high school entrance exam to enter a good high school。 I will go to a different school， make new friends。 Most of all， I heard that there are much more courses in high school， I will be very busy in studying。 I have been visiting a high school， there were many text books and papers on the desks in the class room。 But I also saw the students in the high school were very active to join the extracurricular activities after school。 They had football and basketball matches， singing conferences， painting and calligraphy exhibitions and so on。 So I am looking forward to be a high school student。

One morning I got up very early, and everything around was very quiet. The sun had just risen, shining brilliantly and everything seemed to be covered with a layer of golden silk. There were only some birds singing occasionally in the tall trees. I strolled along the street toward the park, breathing the fresh air and feeling extremely happy.
When I arrived at the park, I found, to my surprise, that there were so many people there. Men and women, boys and girls, all were enjoying themselves in their various activities. Some were doing morning exercises, some were playing badminton and some old people were having their tea while talking to each other cheerfully.
I wandered around the park. To my delight, I found a few middle-school students talking to each other in English in one corner of the park. I went up and spoke to them in English. We soon became friends. I was very glad to find another opportunity to practice my spoken English. On the way home, I realized that an early morning walk really was good and healthful. Taking early morning walks makes one healthy and wise.
My mother is always the one I respect most. She is the first guide of my life, and the pillar of our family.
Once in my childhood, I desired so much to look beautiful. Mother told me,xxx Vanity is a crime. Beauty is only skin-deep.xxx She then bought me lots of interesting books, from fairy tales to collections of essays. From time to time, she took me to travel with her in the country and open my eyes to so many new things, which I would not have otherwise seen.
Mother devotes most of her time and energy to our family. Immediately after coming back from work every work，she keeps herself busy around the apartment, cleaning, washing and cooking. Our happiness is her greatest joy; our achievements are her greatest pride. We can never forget how bravely she acted the day Grandma passed away.
My respect for Mother grows with time. She is my most beloved person in the world.
People can’t imagine life without water. Without it, the earth we live on would be a dead one. There would be no trees, no crops, no animals and no people. So water is considered to be next to oxygen in importance.
Although nearly three quarters of the earth's surf-ace is covered with water, it is sea water and undrinkable. The demand for water is increasing, while water resources are scarce. Agricultural production needs enormous amounts of water, so does industry. Besides, the rapid growth of population makes it more and more difficult for people to survive because of the water shortage. So water shortage has become one of the most serious problems.
Fortunately, people have realized this pressing problem and are trying to find ways to salve it. First, people are urged to economize on water. Second, measures are taken to protect water resources. Third, circulating water is used for industrial purposes over and over in factories and treated sewage water is used for irrigation in farming land.
