The campaign, Clean Your Plate Campaign, is initiated by nongovernmental organizations and activists, which urges people to save food by not wasting anything on the dining table. The campaign, launched on weibo, is soon joined by millions of netizens across China in a bid to curb food wastage and appreciate the virtue of being thrifty even in times of plenty.
Every Chinese student is taught this Tang Dynasty poem: Farmers weeding at noon, sweat down the field soon. Who knows food on a tray, thanks to their toiling day. In the Chinese original, the word _food_ receives emphasis, literally meaning: _every grain on the plate is an embodiment of hard work_. Chinese parents would use this to teach their children not to waste food because it is the product of farmers exhausting labor under the scorching sun or in rainstorms. Yet, when we dine out, well be astounded by the amount of food squandered. The estimated annual wastage of grain in China is estimated to be 50 million tons, enough to feed about 200 million people for one year.
The campaign to finish up ones plate, or _guangpan_ in catchy slang, is meant to drill some common sense into a vanity-conscious society that food is meant for your mouth and too much of it will not make you an important person. People from across the social divide should support the Clean Your Plate Campaign.

On January, 20_, the public started a campaign called Clean Your Plate. This campaign aims to call on people to save food instead of wasting anything on the plates. The main theme of this activity is do not waste any food, starting with me. This campaign was first started from Sina weibo. In my humble opinion, everybody should join in this campaign. As we all know, the Chinese traditional virtue is to be thrifty even we are live in a better life. 为确保此次活动的顺利开展和取得预期效果，我们生活部结合学校目前存在的问题和实际情况，认真制定活动方案，以确保方案的可行性。在有关领导的批准下我们成立了活动领导小组，由我们生活部的干事对参加本次活动的志愿者进行食堂的安排、检查、督促等相关工作。

勤俭节约一直是我们所提倡的，此次为了响应学校的“光盘行动”我院也积极参与、筹划。在这为期一个多月的活动中，我们可以明显的看到铺张浪费的情况有了很大的改善。
在此次活动中我院把学校的具体精神传达下去，然后再由各班级执行，有条不紊。活动中，共有四十二个班级参与，真正做到了全员发动、全员参与。我院不仅召开了“光盘行动”主题班会，还展开了粘贴宣传标语、黑板报、主题研讨会、自带餐具等活动。
此次活动中比较突出的班级有XX老师的XX班、XX老师的XX班等班级，取得了很好的效果，也逐渐走进了同学们的日常生活，让同学们更加的了解光盘行动的含义，也能让大家真正的做到光盘。
