很多中小学生以及他们的家长，抱怨华文难学，华文作文难做难取得高分。
两位资深华文教学者告诉记者，语文的学习是靠基础，就像英文一样，如果不是经常听、说、读、写，就无法驾轻就熟，运用自如。
做到经常听、说、读、写，首先不能排斥它，更不能有“先入为主”认定它很难学的态度。
曾在南洋小学任教27年的陈俊祥老师，目前是“华—语文中心”（Hua Language Centre）长堤坊分校校长，她受访时，以30年的教学经验，列举了小学生作文常出现的问题。
小学生写作文：最忌偏题离题 她说，小学生最常犯的错误，就是作文偏题或离题。
作文一旦离题，一半分数就不见了，除非文笔还流畅，否则就连及格都成问题。
另一个常见的毛病是文笔不好，词汇不够，如果再加上内容“天马行空”，胡乱写一篇现实生活中不可能发生的事，或捣蛋、有负面影响的，都不可能拿到高分。
陈校长也分析其他作文分数不高的原因： （1）选材不恰当：尤其是看图作文，没有照图片发挥，而是任意“创作”。
例如图片是孩子刚拿成绩册，他的成绩不是太好......，像这样的题材应当是从正面角度去发挥，完成像“得到父母鼓励，孩子发奋图强”之类的内容。
但有的学生却理解成“爸爸大发脾气，骂了妈妈一顿，还把妈妈杀了，最后我也自杀了.....”，这样的想法不合理，也不应该鼓励，因此无法争取分数。
（2）词汇不够：形容“开心”的事，通篇都是“开心”，没有别的形容词； （3）句子不通顺：尤其是英语式华语，例如“小丽掉了课本”（正确是“小丽的课本掉了”）、“我吃先”、“我走先”等（正确是“我先吃”、“我先走”）。
（4）构思不完整、详略不当：开头写了一大半，来到主题中心思想时却两句话带过，结尾更是草草了事，犯上主题不突出的毛病。
（5）观察力不够，描写不深入：例如描写弟弟顽皮，没有举例具体说明。
一篇好作文的评估 取分秘诀 小学作文：看图作文最容易拿分 ★窍门：依照个别的图片造句，然后将个别图片的造句串连起来，加上一些连贯词汇、描写和形容词等，便能达到基本要求。
中学作文：叙述文最易掌握 ★窍门：先不要考虑、担忧字数，一口气把一个人（例如我敬爱的人）、一件事（例如我难忘的事）描述和交待清楚，只要达到文字通顺就可及格；如在内容及技巧上下功夫，还可拿高分。

李老师说，中学生作文也会犯上小学生一样的毛病，或者说，小学时常犯的错误没及时纠正，到了中学时还是会继续出现。
此外，老师对中学生作文要求也提高了，中学作文包括叙述文、报章报道、议论文和完成文章四大类。
学生经常出现的错误包括抓不到重点、词汇不够、题材不够、联想力差等，这主要是因为学生接触和学习华文的时间不够多。
李老师说，要学好作文，除了多听、说、读、写外，家长还可协助孩子学习归类词组，例如将描写“快乐”的形容词和成语归在一起，让他们记熟和运用。
此外，多收集模范文章和剪报，让孩子明白同样的题材可以有多种开头和写法，并鼓励孩子主动观察，养成写日记／周记的习惯，如果无法写日记周记，也可以每周抄写一篇他人的好文章。
陈校长和李老师不约而同地指出，家长的鼓励很重要，并且要给孩子正确的信息：“只要肯学，我一定能学好华文”，那么学华文的过程，必能胜任愉快。

our shool, wuhan heping middle school, lies in the center of wuhan city. it was just built and has the perfect size. the school yard is two hundred meters long, one hundred meters wide, and is surrounded by trees.
when you walk throught the front gate, there is a huge garden that greets you with every kind of natural things. to the left is the school library in which there are more than 100, 000 books. to the right is the experiment building. in the very middle of the school yard stands the teaching building that stretches for onehundred and fifty meters. this teaching building has four floors with the teachers' offices at either end of each floor. standing on the top of the teaching building, you can see a flower bed. behind the teaching building is a large playground on the right side. the students often do sports here after class. to the left lies the dining hall which can hold 500 people. this is our school, a beautiful one.
